The Next Generation Workplace

The next generation workplace will be blended; online and offline learning; remote and onsite working. A tech-literate next generation will need new remote tools to master complex human influencing skills which previous generations could learn face to face.

Building Uniquely Human Skills

These human influencing skills will be every company’s most valuable asset, irreplaceable by machines. AI driven solutions will replace many professional functions, making uniquely human interactivity the bedrock of strong customer relationships, excellent client management and effective team work.

Our Effort

Our mission for the past 20 years has been to develop the science and the technology for this challenge. We assembled leading psychologists, educators and data experts to design a pioneering, multi-year research programme to identify the uniquely human influencing skills the next generation worker would need.

Our Learning

We distilled our findings into a learnable model, crystallising 4 cognitive steering biases which workers can learn to control, like levers. We showed that those who do, can master 16 Influencing Strategies, each of which is critical in the workplace. Used at the right time, for the right reason, they enable any worker to become agile and influential across their remote and face to face interactions. They will drive productivity, engagement and performance.

Our Technology

We are building a tech ecosystem which will allow each worker to control and drive the development of their own steering skills. It will connect managers to workers, enabling organisations to build highly effective remote teams. It will measure and track the organisation’s most influential steering behaviours. It will amplify human skills across the organisation.

Our Community

Our community is led by Dr Simon Walker, who has 20 years experience transforming industries using steering cognition. More than 200 leading schools around the world now use STEER’s tools to prepare their students for the workplace. In the next 3 years, 75,000 high school graduates will leave school having tracked their own steering from the age of 8, now bringing those unique human skills to the workplace.

Our Corporate Experience

We have been privileged to work with corporates and organisations across different sectors. We have already delivered high-impact steering programmes for teams, managers and leadership. USTEER represents our next effort to enable businesses to drive next generation human skills, by putting steering technology into the hands of every worker.
