Those with a bias toward high Trust of Others assume that people will give them attention, approval and support.

Those with a bias toward low Trust of Others doubt that people will give them attention, approval and support.

A high Trust of Others is necessary when learning a new skill, working in a team or following a leader.

A low Trust of Others is useful when exercising caution, holding others to account or being critical and discerning.

What are the risks?

 

Individuals with a fixed bias towards a high Trust of Others risk becoming people-pleasing, easily led and overburdened.

Those with a fixed bias towards a low Trust of Others risk developing a tendency to blame others, avoid commitment and deflect vulnerabilities.
